November 7-8th 2014 marked the first annual Scott's on the Rocks event.
The Armstrong Clan did not officially participate this year, but went to get a better feel for the event.
It was beautiful weather, great food as usual, and a good time.
One of the highlights for us was being able to taste some Scottish cuisine by Eric McBride, who is known for his cookbooks as well as his exceptional knowledge on the history of Scotland. I was very impressed and personally would never challenge him to a history debate. A great thing I love about his cookbooks is he puts excerpts of the history behind the food. It is educational as well as a great collection of recipes.
He has proven many critics wrong about Scotland cuisine. His work has put Scotland cuisine at the top ranks in the cooking world as he has surprised many skeptics after winning competitions for several of his recipes. Just to name a few: Roasted Rosemary Leg of Lamb with Blueberry Port Glaze, Orange Chocolate Whiskey Mousse, and others. I hope I got that all right. He is just exceptional!

We are hoping to have more pictures from the next event now that Josh bought me a very nice camera for Chritmas. I wish we could have more to report on. There was dancing competitions as well as the Wicked Tinkers that we tried to see, but there was just so much to do and we were only there part of the weekend. All in all the scenry really added to the event. It was just beautiful.
